Interview with Chema Arguedas

“Very useful! Many times we remember we should have a relieving massage when you already have legs as stiff as planks. At night while watching TV, I used it in the area where I had the pain for a while, and that fixed it!”

Coach and physical trainer specialized in cycling, expert in sports nutrition, author of the best sellers Planifica tus pedaladas, Alimenta tus pedaladas y Planifica tus pedaladas BTT, expert in cycling training for the magazines Ciclismo a fondo, Bike World and Sport Life.
Good morning Chema, you were telling us the other day on your Facebook that when lifting a box with your books “Planifica tus pedaladas” (Planning your pedaling) you felt your back "seized up", and although you had been going to see the physiotherapist and you had improved, you continued with some discomfort and you were going to try 3TOOL. Can you tell us about your experience using 3TOOL?

The experience was mind-blowing. In a couple of days it was as if I’d had nothing at all. Completely normal. In the following two days after being at the physio, at night while watching TV, I used it in the area where I had the pain for a while, and that fixed it!

Just for curiosity, how did you get to know about 3TOOL?

I went to the physio due to this discomfort in my back we were talking about, and he recommended it as a way of continuing with the treatment at home until my back pain stopped completely.

Had your physio introduced you to anything similar on any occasion or did you know about anything like this in the market?

No, I did not know about anything similar. The good thing about it as opposed to an electrostimulator, for example, is that you do not have to start attaching suckers or cables and in much less time you alleviate a lot the pain. Not always when you call the physio can you get an appointment and this is an answer for emergencies. You can take it with you everywhere if you have to travel because it takes up no space at all.

From the point of view of the physical trainer, do you think 3TOOL can be useful for many amateur cyclists that right now may be preparing the “Quebrantahuesos” (an amateur and professional cycling race in the Pyrenees)?

Very useful! Many times we remember we should have a relieving massage when you already have legs as stiff as planks. And if it takes three days to be given an appointment to loosen them up, you carry on training but with a higher risk of causing an important injury or strain. People are not aware that resting is part of training and that in the long run you will be perform better. If you do not do so, you will cause yourself a muscle injury, which depending on how it is, it means you will have to stop for two or three weeks. Nevertheless, having 3TOOL you can use it on yourself and remove the tension from the more strained areas and also you can massage yourself to drain away waste products generated at a muscular level.

“At night while watching TV, I used it in the area where I had the pain for a while, and that fixed it!”

Do you consider runners or other sportsmen could also benefit from the use of 3TOOL? In what way do you think it could benefit them?
To end off, we would like to know, which of the three uses do you consider more interesting for the cyclist?

Especially, to relax strain in the quadriceps and any more strained area of the gastrocnemius and soleus. And to massage yourself. I am sure it can be part of one's training routine and above all, I insist, on how comfortable and easy it is to use.

Many thanks Chema, with that we end our questions regarding your personal experience with 3TOOL. It has been a pleasure to hear your opinion..

Thank you, for me it has been a great discovery because I think it will accompany me whenever I travel because it takes up so little space. For example, I am away for four days now to train and it is coming with me. While I am watching the TV or even on the computer for awhile, it will help me relax.
