Interview with Juanjo Alcoz

"From the beginning I was interested in it; from the moment I tried it I knew it was something beneficial for physiotherapists and patients. I would highlight that it is easy to transport, we all have patients who have to travel a lot because of their job or their sport."
Juanjo Alcoz Alsasua. Born in Logroño (Spain). At present he works as a physiotherapist at Juanjo Alcoz Physiotherapy Centre.
Good morning Juanjo. You were commenting to us that the other day you tried 3TOOL on a patient. Could you tell us about your experience?

Really, I have tried it with several patients. But there was a particular patient on whom it worked outstandingly, this patient came because of pain on the lateral side of the knee, after the assessment we saw she had a trigger point in the vastus lateralis. I suggested dry needling to her, but she declined, so I told her we could try with 3TOOL. We carried out a combined treatment using the zone for treating trigger points with the flat zone for myofascial treatment. After a few days the patient came back to the clinic and the pain had practically disappeared and with one more session it disappeared completely.

How did you get to know about this tool?

I knew about it thanks to Pablo Herrero, who talked to me about it and that they were developing it. From the beginning I was interested in it, from the moment I tried it I knew it was something beneficial for physiotherapists and patients.

What benefits do you consider it has for the patients?

First of all, its versatility; this allows you to treat different pathologies away from the clinic and with some prerequisites. Secondly, the ease of transporting it; we all have patients who have to travel a lot because of their job or their sport. And thirdly, right now they have something they can use when we cannot attend to them.

Regarding its use what would you highlight?

The ergonomics above all, it allows me to work in different positions and in a very comfortable way.

As a physiotherapist and talking a bit about the tool, which of its 3 uses do you consider most effective? Would you add any other use?

The zone for trigger points, because it allows us to treat with certain consistency but without leaving marks on the skin like other tools which exist in the market.

Is there any other tool similar in the market?

No, there are wedges for vertebral treatment, other instruments for trigger point and myofascial treatment, but nothing so comprehensive.

To end, would you recommend it to patients to continue with their treatment at home?

Yes, because of what I have explained beforehand and because it is a great complement to physiotherapy treatment.

Many thanks for your time, that ends our questions about the use of 3TOOL.

Finally, I would like to thank Pablo Herrero and his team for developing this wonderful product.
